Gary Holme’s Fine Lookin’Art Gallery is kicking ass and taking names.
We’re not kidding. Gary Holme is doing some incredible things. He’s making crazy new artworks every day, as he has for 50 years. Like artist-pulled silkscreen prints, mad new pen & ink gesture drawings, transgressed advertising (that’s where Mr. Holme satirizes his own advertising), editorial cartoons, and whatever the heck-else he feels like creating. And COMING SOON: A live social media-creation event. That’s all the kicking ass part.
As for the taking names part? That’s kind of a contemporary idea obviously. Gary Holme just wants to share cool content to your email address. Expect things like early art drops, special limited editions, and free swag. If you’re in the mood to explore now, or like what you see, feel free to hit the shop button or email us with any inquiries here at polygorgeous.
"to create, i like to be pushing up against something. i need a force in opposition to me that is heavy and inert, a thing that needs energy and commitment and intention from me to move it.”

“In 2016, I created eight paintings for a group show in Beijing, China. The young gallery owners were enthusiastic about the sketches I sent, and everything was approved. Then I changed my mind, flipped the script and painted some wild political pieces instead. Understandably, they were pissed. But those bold gallery owners hung ‘em anyway, the controversial ones, not the ones below.
Now, I want to share these Chinese Sea Monsters with you as beautiful, Limited Edition signed and embossed prints. Check them out below, and go to the print section to purchase one.
PS An update on the political ones: they’re still being held by Chinese authorities. More on that later.”

Limited Edition Chinese Sea Monster Prints
Created 2016
19” x 25” Ink & Watercolor On Paper
Printed 2025
19” x 25” Giclée On French Paper
I called these Chinese Gea-Monsters, because buried in every painting was at least one scribbled capital G. It seemed funny at the time. Still does.
I also gave them genitalia, because, well, I just did. Sometimes it’s obvious (above). Sometimes it’s geographically incorrect and subtle.
I created eight of these at the time for a group show, and four are now in private collections. The four above will be printed on request, and are available now.
Above was originally titled ‘Salama-Gea’. See what I did there? The originals are 19” x 25”, and so the Limited Edition prints will be the same.
ABOVE: Original sketches of Gea-Creatrures.
