I bought this perfect frame in the middle of the pandemic. Gold-Leafed (real gold), smooth, a frame masterpiece, 27” x 27” When I brought it to the studio, I felt an early 20th century wave roll over me, and thought I would turn to one of that century’s mathematical abstractionists with a little Bauhaus thrown in. The Russian Master, Wassily Kandinsky. He inspired me, and I did this. But with a post modern, nihilist vibe. A man, deconstructed but still optimistic and naively hopeful. Took months to complete this, as abstraction is a winding, ever-changing path. A journey I loved taking and will likely take again.
