“I had sketches and notes I had done at various trips out to the Niagara Escarpment near Milton, Ontario, and some sunrise photos from a car commercial shoot one cold, effing early morning. The apartment part is where I actually painted this square landscape, late one night, consuming Red Bull and dubes. The end of the day and the beginning are both exciting. But Sunrise has more energy. Red hot. It’s one of only a handful of Acrylics I’ve done. Dries fast. Must. Work. Furiously. I also love bold paintings that don’t need a frame. Gallery Gangnam style.
